MEMBERSHIP: There are currently around 900 youth members in the Los Amigos District. These Scouts enjoy Scouting activities in 24 Cub Scout Packs (boys, grades 1-5), 24 Boy Scout Troops (boys, age 11-18), and 17 Venturing Crews (young men & women, age 14-21).
VOLUNTEER LEADERSHIP: Over 800 adult volunteers are a part of the various levels in the Scouting program serving Los Amigos District Scouts. These adult leaders work with our members to promote the aims, methods and values of the Boy Scouts of America. More than 38 adult leaders work on the Los Amigos District level to provide leadership, resources and service to support the unit leader in delivering the Promise of Scouting to youth in our District. Many of our leaders also serve in leadership and service at the Unit and Council level as well.
PROFESSIONAL STAFF: Los Amigos District is directly served by one full time Scouting Professional (District Executive). In addition, the Orange County Council supports Los Amigos District through a staff Field Director providing information, support and resources to the units.
PROGRAM: Los Amigos District and the Orange County Council host many activities and events, including:

FACILITIES: The Orange County Council owns facilities including the Schoepe Scout Reservation at Lost Valley (SSRLV), a 1,400 acre camp in Warner Springs CA. the Irvine Ranch Outdoor Education Center (OEC) in Orange CA, Oso Lake in Rancho Santa Margarita, and Newport Seabase in Newport Beach CA SSRLV, Seabase, and OEC are available for both Scout and Non-Scouting Groups for year round use. The Council also operates a centrally located Council Service Center on Dyer Rd. in Santa Ana, CA to provide resources, conduct training, distribute information, maintain records, and host meetings. A BSA National Scout Shop with a local help desk is located adjacent to the Service Center for supplies and information. An additional Scout Shop is located in Anaheim CA to serve Scouts in northern Orange County.
DISTRICT HIGHLIGHTS:
- Scouting for Food 2015: Generated over 62,000 pounds of food to serve those in need through Second Harvest Food Bank This Good Turn was performed by over 500 Youth Participants and 300 Adult Participants.
- Awarded 35 Scouts in 2016 with the Eagle Scout rank.
- 90%+ of adult leaders are trained
- 70%+ of units are recognized as Journey To Excellence (JTE) Bronze-Silver-Gold Units
- Los Amigos District earned the 2015 Silver JTE District Award
